Blogging gurus advise that, if you’ve been absent from your blog and not posting for a while, that you shouldn’t worry about it OR apologize for being MIA. But for me, it feels like the longer I go without a post, or without an explanation or a comeback plan, the worse it feels.
Long time readers know that my contributions to the blog get less frequent when I’m really busy at work, and get more active when I’m trying to procrastinate re: work. These past several weeks some big presentations, a research project, the end of the semester, and most recently 70 student projects to grade — not to mention the guilt — have kept me away. I’ll be back soon, I swear.
Thanks for keeping things together with each other. More soon, cvh.

Hey CV! It’s nice to know that you’re OK and busy.
Take your time to come back, I’m sure all readers will understand! :)
I recently found this blog, and I have to say I just LOVE it! I wish I had something like this to read the first time we had an au pair. Maybe things would have been so different! We are expecting our new au pair tomorrow, and I have gone through this blog the last days and gotten so many wonderful tips! Thank you so much!! I hope and think I am more prepared now and that this will be a more pleasant experience – partly thanks to this blog!
As a fellow procrastinating academic. I stopped in to read rather than start my grading for the day. Good luck. :)
