Quick Update about Comments
by cv harquail on May 4, 2010
Hi Readers-
I want to let you know that I’ve made a small change in the Comments process. Folks who want to comment will now be asked to enter an email address. You can still stay anonymous to the blog readership by using a pseudonym, a ‘nom de mom/dad’, or a nickname.
I have made this change for a couple of reasons, the most important of which is that I’d like to be able to follow up with commenters, sometimes to clarify their concerns, or to ask if I can use their comment for another post, or to check in on whether advice was helpful. Several times in the last few weeks I’ve been frustrated in my efforts to follow up with some of you.
The second reason to have folks enter an email address is to reduce the amount of spam comments that get generated. You usually don’t see the spam, but it keeps arriving and bugging me. I’d rather spend my time commenting than deleting spam.
While we’re on the subject of comments, take a look at the comments policy on the First Visit? page.
As always, your comments will be kept anonymous unless you identify yourself. Your email address will not be shared, rented, sold, etc.
Let’s try this for a few weeks and see how it works. If you have comments and concerns, please email me at mom at au pair mom dot com.
thanks- cvh
